Debates and discussion are things which in the past few years I’ve realized are of little value.
It seems the most prominent advocates in either sides will always share the same trait: They will never yield. It is a brilliant irony that the most celebrated theorists are also those which had the most extreme leanings. There seems to be more at stake than logic; ego, investment in any form, and idealism.
What would come of a sit down between Karl Marx and Adam Smith?
Nothing.

One Comment
The pre-capitalist mercantile Smith would’ve been speechless in such a debate. Marx was of a different era altogether, it would’ve been like facing off Newton against Einstein or Feynman. It simply wouldn’t be a fair match.
